Country match in Wolfern

Watching the feet of tomorrow’s professional footballers: Spectators have this opportunity with free admission on Saturday, September 3, at the Sportunion Wolfern. There, the next round will be played in a comparison of the federal states for the U14 girls (start: 1 p.m.) and for the U14 boys (start: 3 p.m.). This time the best young footballers from Burgenland are guests in Upper Austria. While the Upper Austrians were able to clearly win 7:1 against the girls from Vorarlberg in the first round, the boys’ game was canceled due to heavy rain. From the ranks of LAZ Steyr, Alexander Hainböck (USV St. Ulrich) and Lukas Huber (ASV Haidershofen) have a good chance of being included.

“Upper Austria is in the top group in a comparison of the federal states, this competition is the highest level at which young footballers can compete,” says Jürgen Rogl, sporting director of the LAZ Steyr. Anyone who stands out here also has a good chance of being nominated for the U15 national team. “Statistically, one or two players will be there on Saturday who will play in the Bundesliga in a few years’ time,” says Rogl, which is why this international match shouldn’t be missed.
