The Trauner Burger chainBurgerista“, which is represented in Upper Austria on Linzer Landstraße and in Plus City, among other places, will most likely get a new owner: As was announced today, Friday, the restaurateur couple Thomas and Petra Altendorfer want to buy the burger chain. As reported, Burgerista, based in Traun, had slipped into insolvency and had to register a reorganization procedure without self-administration with the regional court. Assets of EUR 261,000 were offset by liabilities of EUR 1.2 million. The restaurants continued to operate, Burgerista managing director Thomas Burscheidt said at the time that he was looking for an investor.
Creditors have already agreed. According to Altendorfer, the approval of the insolvency court is still pending.
The Altendorfers are not unknown in the Upper Austrian gastro scene. They run the nine OX restaurants in Austria, specializing in steaks and grills. 15 businesses in different gastronomic sectors are operated. This also counts the Restaurant Herberstein in the old town of Linz and the Schloss Brasserie in the Linz Castle Museum as well as the Café Central in Linz
Thomas Altendorfer not only wants to continue the restaurants, but also wants to expand: They are currently looking for locations throughout Austria. “We also want to consciously go out of the cities,” says Altendorfer: Completely new concepts, such as drive-ins, are also possible.
