Pensioners’ association criticizes unequal one-off payment

Because lower incomes get a lower surcharge, especially the compensatory allowance is rather weakly increased in absolute numbers, which the red senior representatives consider “unsocial”. Specifically, the retirees were guaranteed up to 500 euros as a one-off payment. The maximum amount is added to rest payments between 1,200 and 1,800 euros. In the case of higher pensions, the one-off payment gradually decreases. From 2,250 euros pension there is nothing more.

What bothers the pensioners’ association, however, is how to deal with payments under 1,200 euros. Because, for example, with a retirement benefit of 1,100 euros, only 332 euros will be paid out. At 1,050 euros it is 257 plus.

According to the pensioners’ association, an additional special feature is the approximately 200,000 recipients of a compensatory allowance (EUR 1,030 gross this year). Because they do not receive the one-off payment for the EUR 1,030, but only from their own pension share. An example: a minimum pensioner has her own pension of 400 euros and receives a compensatory allowance of 630 euros (i.e. a total of 1,030). However, she does not receive 250 euros as a one-off payment (based on 1,030 euros), but only 57 euros (based on 400 euros of her own pension).
