A square meter costs almost 14,000 euros in Paris

To do this, experts compared the data from 68 major cities in 23 European countries.

The result speaks for itself: According to Deloitte, the most expensive city in Europe is Paris. In the French capital, a square meter costs an average of 13,462 euros, followed by Munich with 10,500 euros. London (8426), Oslo (8417), Frankfurt (8400), Amsterdam (7600) and Copenhagen (7300) are significantly lower. For comparison: The Deloitte study shows an average square meter price of 5788 euros for Vienna, 4382 for Linz and 3416 for Graz. On the other hand, buying a property in the Bulgarian cities of Varna and Burgas on the Black Sea is comparatively cheap. There, new apartments can be had for around 900 euros per square meter on average.

Paris also ahead in rental prices

Paris was also the most expensive for monthly rents – with an average of 29.10 euros per square meter, followed by Oslo, London and Amsterdam.

In terms of monthly rents, Austria is in the lower midfield in a European comparison. In Graz the average is 10.40 euros, in Linz 10.22 euros and in Vienna 8.66 euros. Varna and Burgas are the cheapest at €3.70 and €2.90 respectively.
