Hole three meters in diameter in the wall of the house: two dead after a traffic accident

The accident happened around six in the morning in the Wenger village of Elling. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, a vehicle in which two men were sitting crashed head-on into the wall of a farmhouse. The wall of the house was so severely damaged in the impact that a hole with a diameter of around three meters was created, as operations manager Bernhard Rögl from FF Weng describes in an interview with OÖNachrichten: “The car crashed directly into the wall on which the kitchen table was standing. Luckily, the three residents of the house were still asleep at this point. I can’t imagine what would have happened if they had just had breakfast”.

Any help came too late for the two vehicle occupants, they did not survive the accident.

The Weng and St. Peter fire brigades were deployed with a total of four vehicles and 25 men. “We are currently still in action to ensure that there is no longer any danger of collapse,” said Rögl at around 9 a.m.
