There have not been so many visitors at the Welser Volksfest for a long time, says trade fair manager Petra Leingartner: “We have not yet evaluated the numbers, but we assume that more than 25,000 people came.”
After two years on the back burner, the organizers of the folk festival this year once again ignited a veritable firework of entertainment options: the festival tent with a traditional musical program and festive cuisine, the wine village with exuberant celebration music and with a total of 28 more large rides than ever before.
The Wels audience, hungry for entertainment, took full advantage of this offer. The rides were running until two in the morning, says exhibition manager Leingartner. “It rained briefly on Saturday, but people didn’t let that deter them and kept going,” she says.
That’s why there weren’t only smiling faces among the guests: “The showmen were also very happy that business was going so well again,” says Leingartner. This year’s folk festival was a complete success: “It went really well from Family Day on Friday to Sunday evening,” says the fair manager.
