“The mood was just great”

Roland Pachner and his team from the “Verein Altstadt Neu” were happy to see satisfied faces all around, from the winegrowers as well as from the visitors at this year’s “Wein & Kunst”. The three-day wine festival presented by the OÖ Nachrichten celebrated its lavish comeback from Thursday to Saturday after a two-year break due to the corona virus in the old town of Linz and on the Linz promenade.

“The mood was just great and very relaxed,” Pachner draws a positive balance in the OÖN interview. The weather was also almost perfect almost to the end, adding to the already good atmosphere.

A total of 64 winegrowers from Lower Austria, Burgenland, Styria and Upper Austria were there, spoiling the visitors – including the heads of state and city politics – with their fine wines.

New tradition with Linzer wine

For a quarter of a century the wine festival has been an integral part of the Linz calendar of events, and many enthusiasts have remained loyal to the “freely accessible format in the heart of Linz with many great locations” for many years.

With the selection of the “Linzer Wein” a new tradition was born, which should be a fixture at the “Wein & Kunst” in the future. This was chosen for the second time on Friday; this year, in contrast to the previous year, it was celebrated as part of the festival. Pachner announces that there will be another award next year. This time the Grüner Veltliner “Rosé Grün” (2021) from the Wagramer Weingut Reinberger from Grafenwörth was at the top of the podium.
