The European future rose by a good 30 percent on Monday to 272 euros per megawatt hour and was heading back towards the most recent record high.
After the renewed stop of Russian deliveries through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, a little less gas is now arriving in Austria. “We are currently receiving around 30 percent of the nominated volumes at the Baumgarten node,” said a spokesman for the Viennese oil and gas group OMV on Monday when asked by the Reuters news agency. Before the maintenance of the important Baltic Sea pipeline, it was about 40 percent of the quantities ordered.
After a three-day maintenance of Nord Stream 1 last week, Gazprom has stopped deliveries. This was justified with a technical defect in the Portovaya compressor station. Until this is fixed, no more gas can flow.
More details to come.
