“Along with this, they beat up some people who were celebrating the triumph of rejection, with fist bumps, blunt elements and even throwing beer at them“, reported from the Chilean media.
Something similar happened in the town of La Pincoya de Huechuraba, in the northern sector of Santiago, where a group of individuals came to protest against the triumph of rejection.
Approval supporters also installed incendiary barricades, damaged public transport and clashed with Carabineros personnelso the traffic was momentarily interrupted.
However, the police have not yet reported on people detained in the conflicts that took place in the Chilean streets on Sunday night.

“I promise to do everything on my part to build a new constituent itinerary”said the president Gabriel Boricin a message to the nation after the vote count.
In a calm tone, Boric, 36, urged political forces to immediately put “Chile ahead” and asked that the deep discrepancies exposed by the process be respected. But he invited citizens to overcome them and, “now yes, come to an agreement”

The Chilean people showed “that they love and value their democracy, that they trust it to overcome our differences and move forward, and this is confirmed by this electoral process that has had the largest number of citizens at the polls in our entire history,” the president maintained.
The Chilean President concluded with an appeal to all political forces to agree on the next deadlines and boundaries to draw in a new constitutional process.
