What is meant are the small, colorful face masks on the house facades. These are not always easy to spot, depending on the height at which they are attached.
The faces go back to the French street artist Gregos, who was in town last weekend for the opening of the street art exhibition at Galerie Dumas. The artist also used his stay to distribute his faces on house facades in Linz – a total of 22, as Raffaela Dumas-Janetschko from the gallery knows.
The artist is gradually presenting these on his Facebook page. He does not ask homeowners for permission before installing it, which is why it is always questionable whether and for how long his street art can be seen. In any case, it is certain that interested parties can now “officially” view a work with a Linz card (“Gregos was here”) in the Dumas Gallery in addition to a work sprayed at the opening. Incidentally, Gregos has installed more than 500 such faces so far, most of them in Paris, but also in Los Angeles and Tokyo. And now also in Linz…
