European flair on the Schloßberg in Graz

While the European Men’s Basketball Championship is entering its hot phase with the knockout games starting Saturday in Berlin, the 3×3 athletes will also be determining their continental champions on the Schloßberg in Graz from tomorrow to Sunday. In the game for a basket, the red-white-red teams want to reach the quarter-finals in order to then be able to compete for the medals.

For Austria, Anja Fuchs-Robetin, local heroes Nina Krisper and Camilla Neumann and 19-year-old Austro-Canadian Mackendra König will be competing for women. The 3×3 Team Vienna with Matthias Linortner from Altmünster, Filip Krämer, Nico Kaltenbrunner and Martin Trmal forms the men’s team that has to deal with Hungary and Lithuania. The top two in each of the four groups of three make it through, as does the women’s tournament, in which Estonia and top seeded Germany with 3×3 world basketball player Sonja Greinacher await. As the defending champions, Spain (women) and Serbia (men) are coming to Graz, where 1,000 fans will find space on the UNESCO World Heritage site. ORF Sport+ broadcasts the matches live with red-white-red participation.
