Production of the Netflix series The Crown will halt production of the sixth season “out of respect” for the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
“The crown is a love letter to her [rainha] and I have nothing more to add yet, only silence and respect. I hope the recordings stop out of respect,” wrote series producer Peter Morgan. term.
The possibility of the Queen’s death during the production of the series had already been considered. In 2016, Stephen Daldry, one of the directors, stated that if the monarch died, the production of the series would be stopped.
“None of us knows when this moment will come, but it will be right and appropriate to show respect to the queen. It will be just a tribute and a sign of respect. She’s a global figure and that’s what we should be doing,” he said at the time.
