Questioning of an 11-year-old suspected of being linked to the death of his nine-month-old brother has so far yielded no results. That said police spokeswoman Barbara Gass on Sunday to the APA. The toddler died in the evening hours last Friday in a Viennese hospital after being found in a meadow in the Donaustadt district. It must have fallen from the balcony of an apartment. The eleven-year-old, who, according to the police, has a neurological disease, could not make any statements about what happened on Friday evening. According to current knowledge, the mother, who was also questioned about the facts, was in the kitchen of her apartment at the time of the accident, while her two sons were in the living room. When the 33-year-old woman entered the room again, she only found her eleven-year-old son there. The nine-month-old toddler was found on the lawn below the balcony on the fifth floor of a residential building. Despite an immediate rescue chain, the baby died in the hospital.
After the death of his brother, the boy was with relatives. The further procedure in the investigations by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, northern branch, is carried out in close cooperation with the youth welfare office and in coordination with the public prosecutor’s office.
