When Charles signed his proclamation on Saturday, he apparently didn’t like the placement of the inkwell. With an imperious gesture against his employees, he made his displeasure clear – that was not well received. A clip of the scene from the proclamation ceremony circulated on Twitter, which many users commented critically. “Imagine respecting someone who treats another person like this,” reads one comment. Another user puts the words in Charles’s mouth: “The servant has to clear my desk for me. I can’t be expected to put things away.” Many felt confirmed that the monarchy would not have a future after the death of Elizabeth II.
