Mobility week in the city of Ried with a focus on cycling

With a series of activities, the city of Ried is working hard during the European Mobility Week to make alternatives to motorized private transport palatable. On Friday, September 16, the city bus can be used free of charge all day. On Friday and Saturday, part of Stelzhamerplatz becomes a car-free relaxation zone – with a “reading wheel” and a children’s carousel with a bicycle drive. On Saturday, sections of street are painted by children, a “neighborhood cycling” lures from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the meeting point is at the tourist office.

Two “Climate Active Summer Bike Courses” for children aged six to twelve will be offered on Monday, September 19, from 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. from Stelzhamerplatz. Bring your own bike, the courses are free of charge, register at eva.frauscher@ried.gv.at.

On Tuesday, “Geh-Schenke” will be distributed at the weekly market and at the train station in the form of a healthy breakfast – as a thank you for those who travel by public transport, on foot or by bike. From 6 p.m. a “mobility round table” will take place as part of the urban development forum, interested parties can exchange views on mobility issues with politicians. Two more bike courses for children will follow on Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Stelzhamerplatz.

On Thursday, September 22, there will be a cargo bike show from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the lower main square, as well as a Veloclean bike wash station from Wintersteiger for cleaning bicycles. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a bike repair workshop with Hubert Kickinger, and from 1 p.m. a bicycle exhibition by the Ginzinger company – also on the main square.
