After the accident in the roundabout at the intersection of Böhmerwaldstraße (B38) and Rohrbacher Straße (B127), the man first made his escape on foot. About 700 meters from the scene of the accident, he got into a parked company bus and continued his escape – albeit only briefly because he drove the vehicle off the road. He jumped out of the wreckage, stole a bike and rode on. After that, his trail was lost. A large-scale manhunt was launched. Because a pistol magazine including cartridges was found in the fugitive’s car in addition to various stolen goods – cigarettes, cash and five e-bikes – the police called in the Cobra special task force.
