57-year-old successfully revived after cardiac arrest at the train station

At around 4:50 p.m., police officers became aware of the 57-year-old from the Gmunden district during a foot patrol in the basement of Linz Central Station. The man had apparently suffered cardiac arrest.

The officials immediately began resuscitation measures and alerted the emergency doctor. The ÖBB security service provided a defibrillator, and passers-by shielded the scene from onlookers with a rescue sheet. A paramedic passing by and an employee of the Salzburg Clinic immediately offered their help, they kept checking the airways and performing the cardiac massage.

Until the arrival of the emergency doctor, resuscitation was alternately carried out using cardiac massage and a defibrillator. The person suffered further cardiac arrests during the entire assistance, but was able to be resuscitated again and again. Finally, the resuscitation measures were taken over by the Red Cross and the emergency doctor, and the man was then transported to the Order Clinic in Linz.
