A manifesto is a kind of declaration of principles in which essential guidelines and goals are recorded and made public. Dacia, the Romanian Renault subsidiary, has now done just that in Paris.

The Dacia declaration of principles is a manifesto on four wheels: the Manifesto Concept study will never hit the road like this. But it contains elements, materials and features that will find their way into new Dacia models in the years to come.

One example is the so-called “YouClip” – a clever system for securely attaching a drinking bottle or various accessories.

The prototype Dacia Manifesto also gives an outlook on the resource-saving production of an automobile: Dacia will, for example, use more and more recycled plastics in the future.

Recycled Plastic

In the current Dacia Duster, around twelve percent of all plastic used is recycled. In the next Duster generation, which is scheduled to come onto the market in 2024, this value is expected to rise to 20 percent. Because, according to Dacia: One ton of recycled plastic saves 830 kilograms of oil and around one ton of CO2 emissions.

“For us, the Manifesto concept is a laboratory on four wheels, where we can try out new ideas and test them right away,” said Lionel Jaillet, director of product performance at Dacia.

Dacia Jogger for camping

Dacia wants to integrate one topic even more into the brand identity in the future – adventure and outdoors. Specifically, one wants to make affordable short-term camping possible for customers, for example. Therefore, a camping box including a mattress topper was developed for the new Dacia Jogger.

This piece of wood, weighing around 50 kilograms, can be installed and removed in no time and is suitable for spontaneous overnight stays; available from 2023.
