An emergency doctor from the professional rescue service could only determine the death of the boy in an apartment. “Due to the unclear circumstances of death, the Vienna State Criminal Police Office was called in and an autopsy was suggested,” said police spokesman Markus Dittrich.
According to the police, the boy’s family is being looked after by a crisis intervention team. The child was found lifeless at around 10.45 a.m. in the apartment near the Praterstern. A parent had previously alerted the rescue, the spokesman told APA. The parents and a sibling were in the apartment.
The background to the eleven-year-old’s death was initially completely unclear, the police are now waiting for the findings of the forensic medicine. It was not yet clear when the results of the autopsy could be available. For the time being, there was no information about any previous illnesses in the boy.
