When two or more people gather in front of the television, it is not always easy to find the right volume. What is pleasant for one person may be too loud for another. The German manufacturer Sennheiser has come up with a remedy with TV Clear, a pair of true wireless headphones specially designed for television. The OÖN have tried the in-ear headphones.
Setup and transfer: In addition to the earbuds, Sennheiser supplies silicone attachments in different sizes, a charging case and a radio transmitter that is connected to the TV and transmits the signal to the headphones. This happens at a transmission speed of just 13 milliseconds, which keeps the picture and sound in sync. Depending on how the TV set is equipped, a few settings still need to be made for the audio signal, then you can get started.
Service: The headphones are connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth. The earbuds can be controlled with the TV Clear app, and the speech intelligibility of the TV sound can be optimized in five stages. Simple commands such as adjusting the volume are also carried out directly by pressing on the headphones or tapping on the frame.
Sound quality: When it comes to its core competency, the optimization of the sound signal from the television, the TV-Clear headphones do not show any weaknesses. The speech intelligibility in dialogues is actually significantly increased. In general, there is nothing wrong with the audio quality when watching television. When listening to music, however, the biggest shortcoming of the earbuds becomes apparent: the weak bass, which results in a rather meager sound experience.
