Moscow had already been accused of war crimes, allegedly committed in Bucha, near kyiv, in the first weeks of the conflict, but the Russian authorities always rejected such accusations.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights also said it plans to send a team of investigators to verify the allegations made by the Ukrainian authorities.

Ukraine recovered positions in the northeast and in the south of the country in the last week, after the boost received by the military aid sent by Western countries.
