The Carinthians celebrated a 4-1 away win against SCR Altach, which means that the Vorarlbergers are at the bottom after the ninth round. Although the home side took the lead through Alexis Tibidi (39′), a triple pack from Markus Pink (45′, 51′, 78′) and a goal by Solomon Bonnah (93′) turned the game around in favor of Peter Pacult’s team .Altach. The Klagenfurt team proved to be a stronger team right from the start and recorded more offensive actions, but initially without a compelling chance. Maximiliano Moreira tried it with a sharp long-range shot, Altach goalie Jakob Odehnal remained the winner (37th).
Practically in return, Bakary Nimaga played a remarkable pass to Tibidi. His opponent Nicolas Wimmer slipped, Tibidi recognized the opportunity and shot into the near corner. Klagenfurt’s Austria managed to find the right answer before the break. Altach stumbled into a counterattack, Florian Rieder initially failed at Odehnal, but then Sinan Karweina hit a cross on Pink, who was successful with a header.
The interaction of this duo also led to the second Klagenfurt goal. Karweina was not prevented from crossing on the right, Pink was again spot on and headed in to make it 2-1 for the Klagenfurt team.
After that, the Vorarlbergers risked more. A header from Atdhe Nuhiu flew well over the bar (65′) and Noah Bischof’s shot from the turn (67′) was just centimeters short. In the 74th minute, referee Julian Weinberger took back a red card for Altach’s Pape-Alioune Ndiaye after a VAR consultation, and the game was decided a little later.
Wimmer extended a throw-in by Florian Jaritz with a header into the sixteen, where Pink heaved the ball into the goal via the underside of the bar (78′). Two minutes later it could have been exciting again, but Nosa Edokpolor’s header landed on the crossbar. When the ball bounced off, Klagenfurt’s keeper Phillip Menzel was on hand against Nuhiu. At the end, the Altach fans chanted “We’re fed up” before substitute Bonnah scored the final score.
