A 48-year-old Czech citizen drove his car on Saturday at around 9:25 p.m. on the B310 in Freistadt in the direction of the Czech Republic. The man was asked to stop by a police officer. However, the 48-year-old did not follow, but drove towards the police officer, turned his car and tried to flee. During the attempt to stop an officer had to jump to the side twice to avoid being hit by the car.
The Czech’s car was already being searched for before this incident, as he was suspected of having committed a hit-and-run traffic accident in Linz. Finally, about ten minutes later, the man was stopped by other patrols. A breathalyser test showed a blood alcohol content of 2.10, and his driver’s license was provisionally taken away. The 48-year-old was arrested, but an interrogation was initially not possible due to the alcohol consumption.
