Five drink-driving accidents

The police had their hands full on Saturday night. “This weekend was brutal in terms of alcohol-driving accidents,” said Fritz Stadlmayr in an interview with OÖN yesterday. “But there’s nothing you can do apart from checking, it’s up to the people if they get in the car drunk…” Fortunately, all five traffic accidents in which alcohol was involved ended relatively mildly.

Above all, the accident in Steinerkirchen an der Traun caused Stadlmayr to shake his head: a 19-year-old drove away drunk from a festival when the police drew attention to himself, the young man, who later measured 2.12 per mille, raced away . “It’s almost a miracle that he was able to stay on the street for so long. You’re amazed that he then flees even though his colleagues have already drawn attention to himself.”
