The Queen’s coffin, on which the royal crown, scepter and orb rest, had been laid out in Westminster Hall since Wednesday. According to a spokeswoman, Austria’s head of state Alexander Van der Bellen was at the Queen’s public laying-out at 10 p.m. A photo shows Van der Bellen with his wife Doris Schmidauer and Deputy Cabinet Director Markus Langer in front of the coffin of the late Queen.
In addition, the Federal President condoled the new monarch Charles III at a state reception in Buckingham Palace on Sunday evening. and his wife Camilla.
“The Queen was a good force in the world. Honoring her life’s work is a matter of great concern to many of you and to me. It’s important to me to represent Austria – all of you – here in London,” wrote Van der Bellen Facebook:
