The young person was stopped at a gas station in Purgstall ad Erlauf after he had avoided being stopped by the police in the market town. He is now awaiting reports to the district authority and the St. Pölten public prosecutor’s office. According to the Lower Austria State Police Headquarters, the 16-year-old accelerated his vehicle when he tried to stop him and made off at excessive speed on a rain-soaked road through the local area of Purgstall. Officials took up the pursuit and identified the driver, who does not have a driver’s license due to his age, at a gas station. The license plates stolen in Reinsberg (Scheibbs district) have now been handed over to the registration owner, the police reported on the incident, which dates from last Thursday evening.
