Princess Kate and Duchess Meghan, wives of Princes William and Harry, attended the Queen’s state funeral in different fashion styles in black. A pair of expensive dark blue trainers on French President Emmanuel Macron’s feet during his visit to London, meanwhile, sparked derisive comments in online networks on Monday.

Is Meghan crying?
Meghan looked particularly touched in photos, one picture showing a gleam under the left of her black-painted eyes that led some to speculate about a tear.
Kate, 40, who now bears the title Princess of Wales, like William’s mother Diana once did, wore a long-sleeved coat dress, a hat with a veil over her face and pearl earrings.
To do this, she had put on a pearl necklace from the late Queen Elizabeth II, which, according to the British news agency PA, she had already worn in 2021 to the funeral of her husband, Prince Philip.
Accordingly, it is a Japanese necklace with four rows of pearls and a curved diamond clasp in the middle.

The necklace is said to have been commissioned by the Queen – from pearls that she received as a gift from the government there after her first state visit to Japan in 1975. The earrings, on the other hand, were made from two pearls from a collection from the King of Bahrain, given to the Queen as a wedding gift in 1947. At that time, the Bahraini monarch still bore the title of Hakim.
Duchess Meghan (41) wore a dress with a cape, a sweeping hat and pearl and diamond earrings.
Speaking of jewellery, King Consort Camilla (75) wore Queen Victoria’s (1819-1901) Hesse Diamond Jubilee brooch, according to the PA. These are diamonds in the shape of an open heart, with two sapphire pendants. In a nod to the Queen’s lifelong love of horses, little princess and Queen’s great-granddaughter Charlotte, 7, wore a tiny diamond horseshoe brooch that was a gift from her great-grandmother.

Macron at the funeral in leather shoes
After his arrival on the eve of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral service, Macron and his wife Brigitte appeared in a matching look, both with dark blazers, sunglasses and sneakers.
Some British media mocked the French President’s casual style. Misinformation spread on Twitter that Macron also wore the sneakers at the funeral service. But this was not the case. There were also nasty comments when the media reported that the shoes were from the French luxury brand JM Weston worth 570 euros.
At the funeral service, Macron wore a black suit and black tie with black leather shoes, his wife Brigitte wore a black coat, a pillbox hat with a small mesh veil and stiletto heels.
