Seven games without a win: Thalhammer had to go

There were seven wins in the first eight games. Now the former ÖFB women’s team manager has already lost his job in Belgium. Yesterday, the first division team announced the separation from Dominik Thalhammer. Assistant coach Miron Muslic, who moved from SV Ried to Bruges in 2021, was promoted to succeed the 51-year-old.

After the picture-book start in Bruges, the club under Thalhammer got caught in a sporting downward spiral. In 19 games there were only three wins. After the last seven games without any success, the player from Linz was given the pass. At the weekend, on the 9th match day of the Jupiler Pro League, Brugge tricked a 2-0 lead at home against KV Oostende and conceded the goals in the final phase to make it 2-2. Bruges is 17th in the 18-team league.
