The accident happened around 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Wegscheider Strasse and Welser Strasse (B139). According to the police, the driver, a 36-year-old from the Perg district, was driving on Wegscheider Straße in the direction of Leonding.
Despite crossing traffic, he drove into the intersection. The result: the car collided with the tram that was going out of town. The car then hit a street lamp.

Both the bim driver (22) and the car driver were uninjured, but the vehicles suffered considerable damage. The main road was closed for around an hour in the area of the accident site.
During the first questioning of the Mühlviertler car driver, it turned out that drugs may have been involved. The 36-year-old stated that he had consumed the day before. The medical officer then determined that the driver was unfit to drive. He had to give up his driver’s license and a report will follow.
