Linz AG: Gas price almost doubled

Little by little, the dramatically increased prices on the international markets are also reaching private customers. At Linz AG, the largest supplier of gas in Upper Austria next to Energie AG, the prices for existing customers will increase from 1.10. raised. The basic energy price increases from 32 to 33.09 euros per year, the energy price by 3.5 to 7.42 cents per kilowatt hour. For an average household with a consumption of 15,000 kWh, this would mean an increase of 44 euros.

However, the total price will not double, because the network costs are between a quarter and a third of the total price. And these costs are not increased.

Linz AG points out that the price increase was kept as low as possible. “Thanks primarily to our procurement strategy, we are still able to bear a significant part of the cost increases ourselves,” says Sales Manager Peter Steinberger. The pricing would thus be below the general index values such as the gas price index. In the past, it was possible to buy gas cheaper for regular customers and could therefore be more cautious than others when increasing, according to Linz AG.

In fact, a look at E-Control’s gas price calculator shows that all other providers are many times more expensive.

For regular customers of Energie AG, nothing will change for the time being. The supplier’s price guarantee is valid until December 31, the OÖN was confirmed.
