Almost eleven kilograms of speed sold: five drug dealers arrested in Upper Austria

The investigators came across a 34-year-old woman from Linz, who was taken to the hospital in March with an overdose of drugs, on the trail of the dealers, the Upper Austrian police reported on Wednesday.

The first clues led the officials to a 41-year-old from the Rohrbach district, who had supplied the 34-year-old and her friend with amphetamines, and then to several people around him. From mid-May to the end of July, the police conducted four house searches and arrested five suspects – in addition to the 41-year-old, a 46-year-old from the Eferding district, a 38-year-old from the Schärding district, a 38-year-old from the Rohrbach district and a 36-year-old Pole. A 30-year-old from the Rohrbach district was released because he was unfit for custody. Four of them are still in custody.

In total, the six men are said to have sold almost eleven kilograms of speed, over a kilogram of marijuana and several hundred ecstasy tablets. Some of them smuggled in the narcotics from the Czech Republic. The officers found drugs, cutting agents, sales paraphernalia, cash and three illegal long guns in their apartments. 25 buyers – mainly from the Rohrbach district and like the main perpetrators who worked – were reported, three had to give up their driver’s license for driving under drug impairment.
