Streetwork Ried has been the contact point for young people and young adults between the ages of twelve and 25 for a quarter of a century now. This anniversary will be celebrated this weekend. An official ceremony with several renowned speakers will take place this evening from 5 p.m. with free admission in the Sparkasse Stadtsaal.
The evening will then end with small culinary appetizers, drinks and music. Kerstin Hofstätter has been with Streetwork Ried since the very beginning. At the ceremony, she will look back on the beginnings together with Walter Humer, who started building up Streetwork Ried with Hofstätter 25 years ago. When asked about how many clients she had worked with since 1997, Hofstätter answered a few weeks ago in a detailed OÖN interview: “It’s difficult to say. We accompany many of them for between three and five years. Overall, I would estimate it will be it may have been between 1500 and 2000.” On Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be big celebrations in Wohlmayrgasse, at the Neptune fountain and on the promenade around the street work.
“It will be a mega street festival for young and old,” says Kerstin Hofstätter. Several Rieder clubs present themselves, there is a photo box, the Ried Gallery and Bruder Burger are responsible for the culinary art. In bad weather, the entire program takes place in the ice rink in Ried.
