Conceived as a “declaration of intent”, the Precept study is now taking concrete form. The manufacturer presented the vision these days at the Polestar Space Center Vienna.
So far, only the Polestar 2 has filled the Swedes’ brochures. In October, the Polestar 3 will be presented, a purely electric performance SUV. The range should be 600 kilometers, says Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar. The start of production is planned for early 2023 in China and the USA.
In addition, preparations are underway for the Polestar 5, which is derived from the Precept study. The 5 Series should be available in 2024. The dimensions of the four-door grand tourer are stately. The wheelbase alone is 3.1 meters. With this, the Swedes create space for the passengers and the battery. There’s no separate rear window, the panoramic glass roof is pulled all the way back. A 15-inch touchscreen (Android operating system) is installed centrally, the cockpit display measures 12.5 inches. (Heb)
