HP Envy Inspire 7921e: all-rounder for the home in the test

With the Envy Inspire 7900e series, HP not only promises a versatile multifunction printer, but also the use of sustainable materials, almost half of which consist of recycled plastic. The OÖN tested the Envy Inspire 7921e.

The device is set up and a customer account is registered via the HP Smart app (mobile or for the desktop). This is uncomplicated and quick. Things are different when HP+ comes into play. This is a customer program that the printer can use to order ink cartridges more or less independently. Of course, HP+ offers some advantages such as discounted cartridges or an extended warranty. However, if you decide against the offer during installation, HP doesn’t give up so easily and asks several times. This is not surprising, after all, HP wants users to always use original ink cartridges. Over time, however, asking questions becomes a bit tedious.

Once set up, the printer knows how to convince. It prints documents up to A4 size, photos up to 13 x 18 cm, copies and scans with a resolution of up to 1200 dpi. From a subjective point of view, the printing and scanning results are pleasing. Photos look especially nice on glossy paper. The Envy Inspire 7921e is not the fastest when it comes to printing, but that is not to be expected from an inkjet printer. The automatic sheet feeder proves to be extremely practical.

Overall, the HP Envy Inspire 7921e does its job very well, for less than 200 euros there is a multifunction device that is convincing both for private use and in the home office.
