A terrorist killed four people in the area two years ago. When the 38-year-old came into the restaurant on Friday night, visibly wearing an elongated object under his clothing and threatened to kill, there was a large deployment of the Viennese emergency services, as the police reported on Saturday. The Vienna task force alarm department (WEGA), the service dog department and the standby unit raced into the Bermuda Triangle. The witnesses reported that the man behaved strangely and when asked about the long object, he threatened to shoot him. So they assumed it was a firearm. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and took what turned out to be a machete from the 38-year-old.
The man also threatened the police officers with death and behaved aggressively. Since the 38-year-old is believed to be suffering from a mental illness, he was taken to a medical facility. A gun ban was imposed on him. Nobody was injured in the incident.
