“Planning in flux”: Citizens in the Kremstal are surveyed

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Water Management Department of the State of Upper Austria are now pulling the public joker: both planning bodies now want to listen to what people appreciate about the Krems River and what changes they can imagine.

The citizens should deposit their wishes about river structures – these can be footpaths and cycle paths, renaturation, more bends, bridges and gravel banks – in an online survey on the Internet (flussdialog.at/survey/flussdialog-unsere-krems/) or in the Collect questionnaires from the municipal offices of Bad Hall, Kematen/Krems, Kremsmünster, Nußbach, Piberbach, Ried/Traunkreis, Rohr im Kremstal and Wartberg/Krems. “The results of the online survey will be presented in detail from autumn and discussed with everyone involved,” promises Patrick Mittler, project coordinator of the river dialogue. Furthermore, an excursion day is planned with a presentation of construction and change measures that could be implemented at the Krems.

The online survey ends on October 10th and takes about ten to 15 minutes. Those who fill out the form remain anonymous, the initiators from the ministry and from the state are not concerned with name data, but with design suggestions from the population, all of which also aim to further improve the ecology of the Krems. Just as strong a hearing should be given to the local recreation and leisure needs expressed by the population in the respective river communities. The “flow dialogue” is also conducted on social media such as Facebook.
