LEMBACH. What one church cannot do alone, four can do together. A prime example is the cross-community crèche that has just opened in the community of Lembach, which was implemented together with the surrounding communities of Putzleinsdorf, Niederkappel and Hörbich.
Education officer Christine Haberlander sees this project as a “commendable and desirable example of improving the childcare situation for under-threes in Upper Austria”. She says: “Our big common goal in Upper Austria is the best possible education and care for the children entrusted to us and the greatest possible support for their parents. That’s why I’m all the more pleased that we can open a great showcase project in Lembach”. This cooperation project with a construction volume without land of around 740,000 euros is a showcase project for the district and the region. Since September, the two crèche groups have been filled to the last seat, the community leaders are happy. The construction was implemented in sustainable timber construction with companies from the region. Particularly noteworthy is the child-friendly garden, which is intended to serve as a great world of adventure and games for the one to three-year-old children. The large trades were awarded almost exclusively to companies from Lembach and the surrounding area.
children education campus
The joy is particularly great in Lembach: “With the crèche, a great children’s education campus was created in the community, because all children’s educational facilities crèche, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and after-school care center are now within a radius of around 100 meters,” says the mayor of the site of the municipality of Lembach, Nicole Leitenmüller.
Alone too few children
“If you don’t have enough small children to run a toddler group in your own community in the foreseeable future, but there is an increasing need for certain young families in individual cases, then it makes sense to create a cross-community facility. I’m glad that we four communities were able to realize this cooperation project of a crèche together to look after our youngest ones,” says Josef Wögerbauer, Mayor of the Niederkappel community.
“I am pleased that this cross-community project has come about. In this way, we can jointly expand what is on offer for young families, which will result in a gain in quality of life in all communities,” says Bernhard Fenk, Mayor of Putzleinsdorf.
Financing made easier
“As one of the smallest communities in the district, it would not be possible or sensible to plan such a project on your own, since children from our community also visit facilities in Sarleinsbach. For this reason, I am very happy that this beautiful building could be erected through the cooperation of the four communities. This is definitely the best solution for our community, also financially,” says Johann Ecker, Mayor of Hörbich.
