“Which @elonmusk do you like best?”tweeted Zelensky, offering two answers: one supporting Ukraine or one supporting Russia.
Musk, the world’s richest person, has proposed holding UN-supervised elections in four occupied regions that Moscow annexed last week, following what he called referendums. The votes were denounced by kyiv and Western governments as illegal and coercive.
“Russia is leaving if that is the will of the people,” Musk wrote.

Ukraine-Russia Peace:
– Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.
– Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
– Water supply to Crimea assured.
– Ukraine remains neutral.

The chief executive of Tesla Inc suggested that Crimea, which Moscow seized in 2014, be formally recognized as part of Russia, that Crimea’s water supply be secured and that Ukraine remain neutral. He asked Twitter users to vote “yes” or “no” on the plan.
Almost immediately, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andrij Melnykresponded to the tweets with insults and guaranteeing that the “only result” will be that no Ukrainian will buy a Tesla again.
“Fuck you is my very diplomatic response to you,” Melnyk said.

“Dear @elonmusk, when someone tries to steal the wheels from your Tesla, that doesn’t make them the legal owner of the car or the wheels. Even if they claim they both voted for it. Just saying”the president of Lithuania tweeted in response, Nausda gypsies.
Musk, who is also CEO of SpaceX, followed up his first tweet with another poll: “Let’s try this then: The will of the people living in Donbas and Crimea should decide whether they are part of Russia or Ukraine.”
Musk said he didn’t care if his proposal was unpopular, arguing that he did care “that millions of people may needlessly die for an essentially identical result.”

“Russia has >3 times the population of Ukraine, so Ukraine’s victory is unlikely in an all-out war. If you care about the people of Ukraine, seek peace,” he posted on Twitter.
In February, when Ukraine’s internet connection was cut off after the Russian invasion, Musk responded to a tweet from a Ukrainian government official asking for help. Musk said that SpaceX’s Starlink satellite broadband service was available in Ukraine and that SpaceX was shipping more terminals to the country.
