This crime became the 34th femicide that occurred this year in Spain and 1,164, if the data that has been recorded in this matter since 2003 is counted.
The head of Equality, Irene Montero, and the Government delegate against Gender Violence, Victoria Rosell, expressed their absolute condemnation and rejection of this sexist murder and transferred all their support to the victim’s family and friends.
In addition, they urged institutions, administrations and society as a whole to join all efforts to arrive on time and avoid more deaths, the Europa Press news agency reported.
In this sense, they recalled the existence of telephone and online assistance services for victims available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, as well as legal advice – in force every day from 8 in the morning to 10 at night – with attention in 53 languages and a service adapted to possible situations of disability.
“These means of assistance can be activated by the victim and also by any person who knows or suspects a case of gender violence. It is a duty of the entire society,” they concluded.
Meanwhile, for urgent cases, they asked to call the emergency telephone numbers of the authorities or, if a call cannot be made due to a dangerous situation, use the Alertcops application, which will send an alert signal to the police with geolocation.
