After a long break it’s that time again: Putzleinsdorf demands Rohrbach-Berg in the Landesligaderby. It has been 16 years since they last met in a competitive game. At that time, Rohrbach won 2-0 in front of 600 spectators in Putzleinsdorf. The current coach of Rohrbach-Berg, Christian Eisschiel, was a player in this duel. “We were the clear favorites because we were close to winning the championship, but back then we had to give everything we had in every game to be successful. That hasn’t changed to this day,” he recalls.

The roles are similar in tomorrow’s duel (kick-off: 5.30 p.m.): Rohrbach-Berg is the favorite again. But climber Putzleinsdorf wants to annoy the district capital and is highly motivated. After two wins in a row, the self-confidence is right. “We’re really happy and want to build on our last performance,” says Putzleinsdorf’s coach Adis Mujkanovic. “But it will be very difficult. Rohrbach is not unbeaten this season for nothing.” It is precisely this series that Rohrbach’s kickers want to expand – although that’s not a big issue in the team, as Eisschiel emphasizes: “The team has been performing well for weeks. But we’re definitely not at our zenith and can still improve in some areas. That’s it’s what drives and motivates us, not just any series.” There will definitely be a proper celebration on Saturday, because after the derby there will be an Oktoberfest in the stock sports hall.

The top game in the Upper Austrian league today is Edelweiß Linz against St. Martin. Fourth-placed St. Martin can overtake Linz with an away win.

In the district league north, tomorrow’s game between Katsdorf and newly promoted St. Oswald near Freistadt is the top match. Both teams have collected 19 points so far. Only eight goals separate Katsdorf from first place and fourth place from St. Oswald.
