This year, the state of Upper Austria is significantly increasing the heating cost subsidy for the 2021/22 heating period with a one-off payment. In addition to the subsidy of 175 euros already paid out, a payment of 200 euros will be made. A total of 375 euros in grant will flow. A heating allowance of 200 euros will be paid out for the 2022/23 heating period.
This was announced today by Provincial Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP), LH Deputy Manfred Haimbuchner (FP) and the responsible Social Provincial Councilor Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer (VP).
The group of recipients of the heating subsidy will also be expanded. Currently, the net household income for a single person may not exceed 950 euros for a payment. For couples, the 2021/22 subsidy has a limit of 1500 euros, which increases by 380 euros per child. In the future, a net household income of 1,200 euros will be the limit for single people. The limit for couples increases to 1800 euros.
Stelzer, Haimbuchner and Hattmannsdorfer said in a broadcast that it was important to help as a state where help was needed in addition to the federal support package: “These are households with a low income. We help here in a targeted and powerful manner.”
The one-off payment of 200 euros will be transferred without application to all households that have received the heating cost subsidy for 2021/22. The heating cost subsidy 2022/23 can be applied for from January at the responsible municipal office.
