a forensic report denies that the death of Mahsa Amini was due to a police beating

Since Amini’s death became known, there have been hundreds of protests that have been repressed by the Police. The report comes less than 24 hours after statements by Amnesty International and other organizations accusing police forces of also causing the death of another teenager, Sarina Ismailzadeh, 16, who went missing on 24 September.

Rejections to the official version

The official statement about Mahsa’s death was answered on social networks by Iranian activists. Precisely this day the mother of Nika Shakarami, a teenager who died after participating in the demonstrations, told Radio Farda that her daughter was killed by the security forces and that, in no way, did he lose his life when he fell from a building, as the Justice had affirmed.

According to the Alborz Prosecutor’s Office, the girl “committed suicide” throwing himself from the window of a building not far from his grandmother’s house, while according to NGOs the death was caused by “blows to the head with a baton”.

Demonstrations for Mahsa began on September 16 and have not stopped. In recent days, they were mainly carried out by university and high school students from various cities who were shown removing their veils in front of the images of government leaders.

Amnesty International reported 82 dead

Amnesty International reported yesterday the death of at least 82 people, including minors, during the harsh last week’s clashes in Zahedan, in the south-east of the country. According to the NGO, what has been defined as “Bloody Friday” represented the day with the highest number of victims since the beginning of the protests, while according to the Iranian authorities 19 people lost their lives in Zahedan.

For the human rights organization, the death toll throughout the country since the beginning of the demonstrations reached at least 134 people.

The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani, described today as “useless” and “unfounded” the resolution adopted yesterday by the European Parliament calling for sanctions against Iran for the violence of the security forces. “The plotters and troublemakers have their roots in Europe,” Kanani added.
