The seven-day incidence was 1,060 cases per 100,000 population. This means that there are 140,646 people in Austria who are actively suffering from the disease – 3,662 more than on Friday. Since the previous day, 14 other deaths have also been reported.
The current infection situation in the federal states: 2,431 new infections were reported in the federal capital Vienna, 2,509 new cases in Lower Austria, 2,950 in Upper Austria, 969 in Salzburg and 538 in Tyrol. 479 new infections were documented in Vorarlberg, 973 in Carinthia, in the Styria 1,995 and in Burgenland 444.
The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Upper Austria with 1,224.9, followed by Salzburg, Tyrol and Carinthia (1,183.1, 1,151.9 and 1,121.9 respectively). Lower Austria (1,045.4), Burgenland (1,008.9), Styria (983.1), Vienna (945.8) and Vorarlberg (899.8) follow. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, there have already been 5,239,883 confirmed corona cases in Austria, and 20,823 people have died from or as a result of Covid-19.
