For previously unknown reasons, the 60-year-old farmer climbed onto the rear-mounted seed drill; probably to refill them. At the time, the farmer’s 27-year-old daughter, who was driving another tractor, wanted to transport the seed to the seed drill using a front-mounted shovel on which the seed was loaded in sacks.
When approaching the seed machine, the farmer was pinched between the shovel and the seed machine in the lower leg/shin area.
The daughter immediately alerted the rescue service. When Patrol Kremsmünster 1 arrived, rescue and FF Ried im Traunkreis were already on site and carried out first aid for the seriously injured.
The 60-year-old was flown to the UKH in Linz with the Martin 3 rescue helicopter.
