Bavaria, Czech Republic, Austria: Motorsport knows no borders! The ADAC Knaus Tabbert Drei-Städte-Rallye (October 13th to 15th) also stops in the Rohrbach district: for the two special stages on Saturday in Peilstein (15.2 kilometers) and Julbach (15.3 kilometers), which are driven on twice get ready for the big rush in the KERAMO fan zones. These are the starting times for the first car: 9.06 a.m. (special stage 8, Peilstein I), 12.32 p.m. (special stage 10, Peilstein II), 2 p.m. (special stage 11, Julbach I) and 5.03 p.m. (special stage 13, Julbach II).
Sport that unites peoples
“Together with our partners, we can set up a three-country event in the heart of Europe,” says ADAC Sports President Gerd Ennser. In view of the conflict with Russia, the people-connecting character is more relevant than ever and also builds a bridge to the past. The first “Three Cities” ran in 1963 as a peace journey in the middle of the Cold War from Munich via Vienna through the Iron Curtain to Budapest. “Perhaps we can send a small signal here too, that sport knows no borders and war is no solution.” In terms of sport, the traditional rally is an event at the highest level: in addition to the best teams in the German championship, the race counts among others for the Czech national championship, the FIA European Rally Trophy and the Mitropa Rally Cup. In addition, the three-city rally, which will once again have a climate-neutral certificate, is part of the ADAC Opel eRally Cup. Drivers with purely electrically powered cars determine their German champion in a separate ranking. As in the previous year, the Three Cities Rally Center is located in Waldkirchen in the Freyung-Grafenau district. The special stages on the Bavarian side on Saturday are in the immediately adjacent district of Passau in the municipalities of Sonnen and Breitenberg (arrival at the finish line). In the Czech Republic, it is driven in Umavské Hotice and Radhostice. All loops are used twice, so that at the end there are a total of 14 special stages with around 170 kilometers to complete.
Incidentally, the first rally air is already on Thursday on the Austrian side: The shakedown (test and adjustment drive) takes place from 6 p.m. in Kollerschlag.
