Medl has extensive experience in the Upper Austrian energy industry. After an apprenticeship as a heavy-current technician at Energie AG, he graduated from the HTL for electrical engineering in Linz and completed his degree in innovation management at the LIMAK Austrian Business School, which he completed in 2012 with a Master of Science. The Redlham-based technician managed a number of hydropower projects and made a name for himself as an auditor for quality and environmental management. Most recently, the father of five worked as a works group manager at Energie AG in Gmunden and was responsible for the operation of 15 hydroelectric power plants in Traun and Steyr.
