It features Queen Elizabeth II, her husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Lady Diana, among others. “Welcome to the 90s. A first look at season five,” Netflix wrote on Instagram along with the pictures.

The start for November 9 had already been announced in September. The British Imelda Staunton (66) takes on the role of Queen Elizabeth II. Claire Foy and Olivia Colman had previously played the monarch. Elizabeth II died on September 8th at the age of 96.

Jonathan Pryce plays her husband Prince Philip in the new season. Prince Charles and Lady Diana are portrayed by Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki. The Australian Debicki (32) is taking over from Emma Corrin, who played the younger Lady Di in the previous season. One photo shows Debicki as Diana on a boat trip with Charles and young sons William and Harry. The marriage ended in divorce in 1996, and Diana died in a car accident the following year.

Since 2016, Netflix has been staging the lives of the British royals in its award-winning series. The first two seasons dealt with the early years of the Queen between family scandals and political crises. The fifth season should now be about the early 1990s, in which the relationship between Prince Charles and Lady Diana continued to deteriorate.
