
A 20-year-old Romanian, who was driving his van on the B141 in the direction of Grieskirchen, is likely to have crossed the middle of the lane near the village of Obereselbach-Grasbach, in the municipality of St. Marienkirchen am Hausruck. His vehicle collided sideways with the oncoming car of a 28-year-old from the Grieskirchen district.
The force of the impact threw the car into a meadow. The driver had to be freed from the wreck by the emergency services of the St. Marienkirchen, Geiersberg and Hohenzell fire brigades. He was treated by an emergency doctor and taken to the hospital in Ried.
The van came to a standstill after about 20 meters on the road. The 20-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, the police reported on Tuesday afternoon.
