At the end of September, the investigators of the State Criminal Police Office learned that the 49-year-old wanted was said to be in Upper Austria. In order to deposit an investment for his high-priced order, the Croatian is said to have encumbered a property with the forged document that did not even belong to him. The man never paid the bill for the hardware, but he sold the goods at a profit.
This serious fraud earned him an unconditional prison sentence from the Count Court in Pula, which is still open, since he had just gone into hiding in Austria. On Wednesday, the wanted man was finally arrested in Leonding by officers from the State Criminal Police Office and taken to Linz Prison, where he is being held in custody pending extradition.
