EUROSPAR branch in Pinsdorf was opened

The Hessenberger family of merchants has been a local supplier in the Gmunden area for five generations – together with SPAR for three generations. This morning Franz and his son Stefan Hessenberger opened a EUROSPAR branch in Pinsdorf and thus continue to ensure the local supply for the town.

“Our former SPAR supermarket had become too small over time, so we decided to expand it into a EUROSPAR store,” says Stefan Hessenberger, who runs two other SPAR locations in Laakirchen and Gmunden together with his father Franz. “In the early 1980s I took over a 28 square meter shop from my mother in Oberweis,” Franz Hessenberger recalls when he started out as a businessman. “Today we employ up to 40 people in the new EUROSPAR in Pinsdorf alone.” There are other locations in Laakirchen and Gmunden.

Almost five and a half months passed from the last day of sale of the old SPAR supermarket to the opening of the new EUROSPAR store. A lot has happened at Vöcklabrucker Straße 31 since then. 71 customer parking spaces now make it easy to drive in and out. And with the expansion of the local supply in Pinsdorf not only the shopping experience has been improved. The entire building operation was also made more sustainable. The merchant family uses the energy from the cooling devices for heating and cooling by means of heat recovery. A photovoltaic system was installed on the roof of the new building.

“The Hessenberger merchant family has always adapted the local supply for Pinsdorf, as well as for its two other locations, to the needs of its customers and has thus constantly advanced and expanded it,” says Jakob Leitner, Managing Director of the SPAR headquarters in Marchtrenk Hessenbergers has already become its own brand in the Traunsee region.”
